But in short it controls the depth of field which is how your focused object stands out from your background. For example, the flower vase is very clear while everything else around it is blur.
Wide angle lens was free, got it from a shop at Sim Lim my girlfriend recommended to me, bargain a lot. But the wide angle they gave me was actually crap. I was really looking forward to the fish eye lens they gave me too but it didn't have any effect what so ever.
